Mayor Urges Residents To Keep Eye On Elderly In Heat
With temperatures hitting triple digits for several days in a row, Lawrenceburg Mayor Keith Durham issued a plea to local residents this week to keep an eye on elderly family members and neighbors.
“I would just like to remind our citizens to be good neighbors,” Durham stated during a meeting of the Lawrenceburg Board of Mayor and Commissioners Thursday evening.
“I urge everyone, especially, to check on the elderly,” Durham continued, “Make sure that they have fans or air conditioners to help keep them cool in this extreme heat. It doesn’t look like we’re going to have a break in the heat anytime soon.”
